She has invested her heart and soul into Highpothermia, creating a space that she deeply cherishes. As one half of the husband-and-wife team at The Hash Frontier Gardens, Dana channels her agricultural heritage with over 13 years of organic cannabis gardening experience. A lifelong Alaskan who has lived in the Bush and embraced its vibrant culture, Dana was raised in South Anchorage and excelled as a competitive swimmer while actively engaging in her community. In a predominantly male industry, she thrives as an indigenous woman, committed to offering only the cleanest cannabis cultivated with the highest quality organic inputs. Dana’s innovative spirit shines through in the store’s menus, marketing, branding, and aesthetics, drawing inspiration from Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes and the raw power of The Last Frontier. Together with her husband Joe, Dana embarked on their cultivation journey 13 years ago, initially growing medicinal cannabis for cancer patients and loved ones, before obtaining a recreational cultivation license two years ago. They stick to traditional practices like hand-watering and soil mixing, producing terpene-rich, mineral-packed cannabis with therapeutic benefits. At the shop, Dana plays a key role in educating staff and assisting customers, often offering expert product recommendations while drawing from her experience of growing over 30 different cultivars for medicinal use. An advocate for a Cali Sober lifestyle, she passionately promotes the benefits of cannabis and is dedicated to keeping Alaska green, ensuring that future generations can appreciate the natural bounty of the Last Frontier. With her furry sidekick Toby as the unofficial mascot, Dana is also committed to community outreach, participating in local events and educational workshops to raise awareness about organic farming and sustainable practices. She believes in empowering others through knowledge, always eager to share her expertise with aspiring growers and enthusiasts, as she envisions a legacy of responsible cannabis use and environmental stewardship that will resonate with Alaskans for generations to come.
