The Hash Frontier Gardens, is our signature in-house flower line cultivated by Joe & Dana the
owners of Highpothermia. We specialize in small batch, handcrafted organic living soil grown we
hand our mix our own soil in house using a proprietary blend of high-quality organic inputs and
amendments found locally.
We learned the craft by growing vegetables since we were children and we utilize the gardening
knowledge and experience of over a decade of dedication to organic cannabis cultivation. That’s
one of the biggest differences in cultivating cannabis in soil versus automated hydroponic
techniques, we garden while others just grow.
As a small batch cannabis shoppe, we can offer cannabis straight from the soil to store. From
the only 4 hands who grew it, straight to your jar. Joe & Dana are often behind the counter
giving expert recommendation from personal experience of the sometimes decade long journey
that have had with some of the strains on the menu.
Rooted in Mother Nature
Living soil is a growing medium that contains healthy microorganisms, including fungi, bacteria,
protozoa, arthropods and nematodes. These microorganisms decompose dead materials in the
soil, convert them to nutrients the plant needs (like nitrogen), and distribute them throughout the
soil. This makes it easier for the plant’s root system to absorb the nutrients resulting in overall
more robust and healthier plants.
We garden the way mother nature intends via a healthy rhizosphere (the area around the plants
root zone) that creates a complex diet promoting more terpenes, total cannabinoids, trichomes
and flavonoids. We feed the soil, not just the plant. This results in more aromatic, long lasting
and effective cannabis packed with therapeutic benefits.
Terpenes – finding balance in the ecosystem
Terpenes play a crucial role in the communication between plants and soil microbes, helping
plants to thrive and soil microbes to regulate the balance of the ecosystem. They act as an
important chemical communication mechanism. Some terpenes such as sesquiterpenes
have roles in long‐range communication or signaling between organisms below ground. Think
of the terpenes in a room full of galactic gorilla all vibrating off of each other & generating more
terpenes.
Our flowers are loaded with terpenes that result in dense, sticky, smelly and covered in ooey
gooey trichome goodness. Each cultivar (strain) offers unique terpene pronunciation so each
strain looks and smells completely different. You’ll be blown away by the unique smells in the
jars on our shelves, you can find something for everyone!

We recycle and re-use all of our soil for composting or in our organic vegetable garden. As lifelong Alaskans, we believe in protecting Alaska and her beautiful land and waterways for generations to come.
That means not draining toxic waste into the waterways, or filling all the local dumps after every
harvest with huge piles of chemically soaked synthetic medium that takes decades to break
down.
