Joe – Co-Owner, Head Cultivator, and Genetics Geek
Joe, the founder, backbone and head cultivator of The Hash Frontier Gardens, (our in-house organic small batch) is a true cannabis connoisseur with deep Alaskan roots. Born and raised in East Anchorage within a large Mormon 3rd generation Anchorage family, Joe’s passion for cultivation started young and has only grown stronger. Known as our garden guru, he handpicks and pheno-hunts from seed every cultivar in his small batch garden’s lineup, ensuring only the best, most unique and impressive flowers make it to our shelves.
Currently, Joe’s favorite strain is Momochi #6 for its decadent layers of unique terps and long lasting effects. However, as plant parent to some genetics we offer for over a decade, he’d tell you every plant holds a special place in his heart.
Joes commitment and dedication to providing ONLY the highest quality cannabis is unwavering. He uses his extensive knowledge and expertise from over 13 years cultivating cannabis full time to educate his customers on the difference between small batch and mass produced synthetically grown cannabis. He’s excited to expand into hash production soon, bringing even more amazing products to our lineup.When he’s not tending to the plants, you can find Joe fishing, enjoying Alaska’s beauty, or diving deep into rare genetics.
Dana – Co-Owner, Soil Baddie, and Branding Queen
As a fifth-generation farmer and lifelong Alaskan, Dana brings innovation and “high” energy to Highpothermia. With a creative eye and over a decade of cultivation experience, she’s not only shaping our brand but also working alongside her husband Joe to grow the finest cannabis at The Hash Frontier Gardens.
Dana is an advocate for anti-corporate cannabis and dedicated to holding it down for the other small family farmers in Alaska! She is passionate about small batch cannabis and not letting the big box corporate cannabis stores from the lower 48 take over. She loves Alaska and making sure alaskans have access to the best cannabis she & her partner Joe can grow. She’s proud to be represent women cannabis farmers in a male dominated industry.
Dana is a nature lover through and through, having grown up in the bush and later South Anchorage. Whether she’s kayaking, camping, swimming, or catching more fish than Joe, she thrives in the great outdoors.
Her favorite strain? Ice Cream Cake #7, thanks to its old-fashioned root beer and gas notes and its ability to deliver the perfect sleep-inducing high.
Rachel: The Perfectionist
Rachel is the mastermind behind the production of our in-house cannabis products, rock-solid budtender AND badass Boujee Blunt hand-roller extraordinaire. Her attention to detail ensures every nug is a work of art, reflecting the care and love put into each plant. She is passionate about the quality of our products from start to finish and loves being part of a truly local and Alaskan business. Her parents are also the owner of Freedom 49 farms! Making her a generational powerhouse within the industry.
When she’s not trimming, she’s helping customers find their perfect match on the sales floor. Rachel’s favorite strain from The Hash Frontier is Fuzz Pedal — she adores its high terpene content and the creative buzz it brings, making it her go-to for inspiration. Passionate about music and art, there is always a project that her and her daughter can work on together.
Wyatt: The Cannabis Connoisseur
Wyatt is the newest member of the Highpothermia family and an avid enthusiast of all things cannabis. He’s the first to try any new product and offers detailed rundowns of what you can expect, making him a go-to resource for customers who want honest, expert recommendations.
Wyatt is also the master of crafting our prerolls, meticulously preparing them for you to enjoy. His favorite strain? Momochi #1 — its potent relaxing effects and unique flavor make it his top pick for unwinding after a busy day. At home he likes to play videogames and get lost in the worlds building dope characters and bases. Wyatt also loves photography and being out in nature getting inspiration with his camera and joint in hand., a true pioneer of Alaska.
Toby: The Good-Est Boy
Last, but certainly not least, we have Toby, our team mascot and head of Pawblic relations. With his paws firmly on the heart of the business, Toby takes his responsibilities seriously. His friendly welcome when you walk in the store is a real heart-melter. He will be sure all customers are feeling the love at Highpothermia.
Toby LOVES terps! His favorite strain is TOAZT (or as we like to call is Toby’s Toazt) , but nothing wins him over faster than a tasty treat. If you’re lucky enough to meet him, you’ll see why he’s the most beloved member of the Highpothermia team.
